This has been a big month for Nirvana. September 13th marked the 20th anniversary of their album "In Utero" and on September 24th they will be reissuing the album along with never-before-heard demos and the complete "Live And Loud" concert from December 13, 1993. I can hardly wait! Let's celebrate this milestone anniversary by remembering two great songs: "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and "Heart-Shaped Box." Vote now and tell us which song is your favorite!

Team Spirit

Nirvana "Smells Like Teen Spirit" - This killer song was written by the masters: Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic, and Dave Grohl. It became a major hit in 1991 and shot "Nevermind" (the album it hails from) to the tippy top of the charts. Thanks to this song, alternative rock made its way into the mainstream market - not an easy feat. Some call this song the "anthem for apathetic kids" but I like to call it "awesome."

Team Heart

Nirvana "Heart-Shaped Box"  - Yes, indeed, this charm was written by the master Kurt Cobain as well. This song was released as the first single on the infamous album, "In Utero" - which, as we know, has passed its 20th birthday! You might not know that "Heart-Shaped Box" was a big radio hit and received loads of American radio airplay. Aside from national success, this hot tune topped UK charts too. Not to mention, it won Best Alternative Video at the MTV Video Music Awards in 1994. Just sayin'.
