Nelly For President! The 'M.O.' Rapper Says No Taxes Until Government Shutdown Is Over

As we enter day seven of the partial government shutdown, rapper Nelly has some advice for our U.S. officials, "Y'all keep bangin'." Yup, the Mike and Ike peacemaker is now saying "IDGAF" to the government and hopes the debt ceiling standoff between President Obama and Congress leads to vacant seats so Nelly can run for office himself. Welcome to Nellyville, ya'll!

"Being in the upper echelon of the tax bracket, [I] feel the the money I could be saving over these next couple of days could be very vital to my survival," the multi-platinum Grammy winner joked with VH1. No work = no tax. I could see our nation getting behind a man with that platform. Well, that and Nelly's strong efforts advocating for taking one's clothes off when it gets hot in herre.

But Nelly is about conflict resolution when it comes to one beef. When asked for his thoughts on the bizarre viral feud between Jimmy Kimmel and Kanye West, Nelly said, "I’m from St. Louis. That’s not a beef. We know what beef is...Speaking of that, Ye is from the Chi. He knows what the deal is."

Hear that, Yeezy? Twitter rants do not a war make. Check out Nelly's full comments on the Kimmel vs. Kanye non-beef in the clip below. Nelly's seventh album M.O. is in stores now.
