VH1 And SCOPE Head To Miami To Merge The Music And Art Worlds

VH1 is again being joined by SCOPE to bring you the best from the art and music scenes, following a successful collaboration last year. The brands' ART + MUSIC + BEACH project will illustrate how visual and musical media are increasingly merging, culminating with a stellar party in Miami Beach.

Several on-air, online and on-site collaborations at SCOPE's South Beach space will highlight how music and art are consistently influencing each other. VH1 will begin airing spots November 11, featuring Chicago artist Hebru Brantley. From December 3 through December 8 in Miami Beach, SCOPE will present their International Contemporary Art Show, featuring audio/video installations illuminating the ART + MUSIC theme.

And to celebrate the partnership, VH1 and SCOPE will host an amazing shindig Friday, December 6, which will include a performance from an up-and-coming music artist. The party is sponsored by FIAT and MONSTER DNA.

VH1 + SCOPE BUILD OFF OF LAST YEAR’S PARTNERSHIP TO COLLABORATE ON ART + MUSIC + BEACH FOR SCOPE MIAMI BEACH 2013

Plans include the Official VH1 + SCOPE Party on the sands of South Beach on Friday, December 6

For the second consecutive year, SCOPE – the preeminent launching pad for emerging contemporary art – continues its collaboration with VH1, which through its own You Oughta Know initiative has helped launch some of music's hottest artists.

This year, SCOPE and VH1 are teaming up to host ART + MUSIC + BEACH to celebrate the convergence of music and art in a series of curatorial on-air, online and on-site collaborations at SCOPE's new location in the heart of South Beach at 10th St. & Ocean Drive.

“After the overwhelming success of last year's event we are thrilled to be partnering again with SCOPE. More than ever the worlds of art and music are intersecting and this year we're celebrating that theme at SCOPE's new location in South Beach,” said Phil Delbourgo, SVP of VH1 Brand & Design.

- VH1 and SCOPE have paired one dynamic visual artist with one music artist that exemplify the theme of ART + MUSIC to be featured in an on-air profile, set to air on VH1 from November 11th to December 1st. The selected visual artist is Chicago-native Hebru Brantley, whose work employs a variety of surfaces and media including wood, spray paint, coffee and tea. Brantley draws influence from an array of pop culture icons, comic book heroes, Japanese anime and the bold aesthetics of street art pioneers Jean Michel Basquiat, Kaws and Keith Haring. Hebru’s work is represented in the collections of Jay-Z, Swizz Beatz, and TI, amongst other high profile music artists.

- On-site, the VH1 Indoor Lounge within the SCOPE Pavilion will expose SCOPE Miami attendees to a series of activations designed to celebrate the crossover between art and music, and will be open to all for the duration of the fair – December 3-8, 2013.

- On Friday, December 6, VH1 will host the Official VH1 + SCOPE Party, featuring a performance by one of today's hottest musical artists. Last year’s party was a tremendous success, featuring a performance by VH1 You Oughta Know artist METRIC. This year’s party promises to be even bigger and better. The event will no doubt be a sight to see as VH1 builds the space from the ground-up, right on the sands of South Beach. The Official VH1 + SCOPE Party will be invite-only, but the public will have a chance to be a part of it all by situating themselves just outside the space for what is bound to be another unforgettable musical and artistic experience.

The Official VH1 + SCOPE Party is sponsored by the FIAT brand and Monster DNA headphones.

Last year’s partnership was founded on the symbiotic relationship between music and art, and what came about was the VH1 You Oughta Know SCOPE Artists On the Rise program, celebrating and amplifying the creativity of emerging visual artists.
