Kurt Cobain's hometown is remembering him in a big way, Mary J. Blige's father suffers a brutal attack, and at least one half of OutKast will be dropping new music this year.

Australian firefighters went to a hotel room after an alarm went off, only to find Snoop Dogg chilling in a cloud of smoke. It's not clear if Snoop was toking on weed, but he definitely snapped a photo with two starstruck firemen. [TMZ]

Aberdeen, Washington will now be celebrating Kurt Cobain Day to honor the late Nirvana frontman. The rocker's hometown has designated his birthday, February 20, for commemorative events marking Kurt's artistic legacy. [Rolling Stone]

Mary J. Blige's father was hospitalized after being stabbed. Thomas Blige was allegedly attacked by an ex-girlfriend, who has since been charged by police. The R&B singer has yet to comment. [AllHipHop]

Well, if OutKast isn't reuniting for a new album in 2014, we'll take the next best thing. Big Boi has reportedly confirmed that he'd been spending lots of time in the studio lately, and he's ready to hit fans with what he's been working on. [MTV News]
