Miley Cyrus has been pushing buttons and making headlines in the past year with her edgy new look, so it makes sense that she'd want to team up with the original singer provocateur: Madonna! According to a new interview with MTV, Lady Madge is lent a hand at the Twerk Queen's Unplugged taping yesterday, setting tongues wagging with some good ol' fashion grinding and...well, tongue wagging.

The pair teamed up for a incredible medley of "We Can't Stop" and Madonna's 2000 hit, "Don't Tell Me," resplendent in country-style denim jumpsuits. Miley may be among the most famous pop stars in the world, but even she was surprised by the visit from music royalty.

"Even I didn't necessarily expect Madonna to be down to do something like Unplugged with me," says Cyrus. "So the fact that she's here doing this hoedown thing with me now is so unbelievable. I'm so stoked!" The 21-year-old singer admits to looking up to Madonna in the early days of her career. "A lot of what [Madonna] represented for me is what I try to represent to girls now," says Cyrus. "Not being afraid of sexuality and really being who you want to be and doing what you want to do."

The performance will air TONIGHT (January 29) at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV!
