50 Cent is taking the indie route. After catapulting to stardom on Shady/Aftermath/Interscope Records years ago, 50 is leaving the label for an independent subsidiary of Capitol Records. And it sounds like the rapper will be hitting us with a new album just in time for summer. [Idolator]

Chris Brown's troubles keep mounting. The R&B singer has just been sued by a man claiming he was assaulted by the star in Washington, D.C. The civil suit comes as a criminal trial linked to the alleged altercation is set to begin April 17. [Rolling Stone]
