Today marks the 66th birthday of one of rock's truest free spirits and greatest frontmen, born in New York City as Steven Victor Tallarico but better known to us all as Steven Tyler of legendary Boston hard rockers Aerosmith.
Since stepping onto the stage in 1970, the Beantown bad boys have been delivering bluesy rock n' roll with swagger in spades and survived the rock n' roll lifestyle. A major part of their success is of course the big voice and bigger mouth of their scarf-wearing, lithe and sometimes loopy lead singer.
Whether spontaneously breaking into song, generously quoting his own song lyrics in conversation or talking hokum-rock-n-mojo-mumble-speak, Steven Tyler definitely marches to the beat of his own drummer, and we're not talking about Joey Kramer. In honor of the man's 66th birthday let's take at 5 reasons we're still crazy about him and can't wait to see him on tour this summer!
See Steven Tyler talk about why love and happiness is the source of his best songs!
