The annual Coachella festival is a place to see and be seen, making it a haven for celebrities who like to experiment with fringe, flower crowns and short shorts. If you’re not lucky enough to score a prime-time set or bring a famous friend to the stage, being photographed in a ridiculous outfit is one way to make an impression. And with desert temperatures and a flood of style bloggers, stars like Vanessa Hudgens and Paris Hilton pushed the limit of acceptable public attire in the name of music.
Justin Bieber popped up during pal Chance The Rapper’s set last weekend to remind us why we stopped wearing bucket hats. (He also rapped.) Kendall and Kylie Jenner couldn’t get enough of Indio, so they dressed like witches in order to summon the power to cast a spell and make it festival season year-round. Coachella veteran Vanessa Hudgens spent the first weekend earning a bindi tan, while the OutKast reunion brought Andre 3000 and his eccentric style to the stage for the first time in nearly a decade.
Because apparently anything goes at a music festival — including partial nudity and cultural appropriation — check out some of the most ridiculous outfits seen on celebrity performers and attendees over the two-week event.
