You Oughta Know We're In Love With Ed Sheeran Covering Sam Smith
You aren't the only one who hasn't stopped listening to Sam Smith over the last few months. And if you reserve space in your love tank for another adorable, uber-talented Englishman, today is your lucky day.
Ed Sheeran is the latest star to praise the great talent of our June You Oughta Know artist, joining the likes of Taylor Swift and Mary J. Blige. Ed tipped his hat to the rising star with an acoustic version of "Stay With Me," performed in the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge. The location has been the setting for some of our favorite covers to date, and Ed brings the emotion to his understated-yet-gritty rendition of Sam's current single along with a cast of talented backup singers. And he's a You Oughta Know alum to boot! Seems too perfect. We always say that we're a tight-knit family here at VH1, so to see two of our most precious acts colliding makes us feel all warm and fuzzy. This means a Sam and Ed collaboration needs to happen, right? He's already performed with Taylor, and you know she has Ed's number... Make it happen, people!
