Since last night, musicians have been competing in VH1’s Make A Band Famous to win a recording contract with Republic Records in a series of challenges that pushed them outside their musical comfort zones. One of the coolest competitions so far was the “Box Of Beats Challenge” where the contestants were asked to cover a famous pop hit of yesteryear using only toy instruments and the most basic pieces of percussion. 24 bands started out and now only four are left; Tony Memmel, Malado!, Fancy Reagan and Chris Ayer. We already showed you celebrity judges Natasha Bedingfield, Bonnie McKee and MABF host Tyson Ritter of The All-American Rejects performing Pharrell’s “Happy” and now you can see the Box Of Beat Challenge performances from the final four.
