Today's brash and illicit images in the media have completely desensitized the minds of music lovers. Nicki Minaj's overtly sexual "Anaconda" art cover sparked initial shock but quickly blew over once people realized seeing a person's butt wasn't anything new. The same goes for rockers dressing in drag, singers getting caught lip syncing and the occasional sex tape scandal. Is it sad to say that in 2014, controversy is not as controversial anymore? Check out original controversial music moments that paved that way for outrageous moments today.

Speaking of controversy, Miley Cyrus has been the center of wild behavior since her infamous twerking debut at the 2013 MTV VMAs. Watch Miley rationalize her behavior in this throwback clip of "Miley: The Movement."
