Last night marked the very first BBC Music Awards and VH1's very own You Oughta Know alum Ed Sheeran took home one of the biggest awards of the night. Sheeran beat out David Bowie, Sam Smith and others to score the title of British Artist of the Year. Watch the elated "Thinking Out Loud" singer give his acceptance speech and find out who else won high honors at the first annual music awards.
Pharrell Willams won Song of the Year for his worldwide hit "Happy" and accepted his award from longtime friend Gwen Stefani. Other nominees included Clean Bandit featuring Jess Glynne for "Rather Be", Coldplay for "A Sky Full of Stars", Lorde for "Royals", Sam Smith for "Money on my Mind" and more.
Williams also won International Artist of the Year against Dolly Parton, Gregory Porter, Lorde, Prince, and Taylor Swift.
