Drake Surprises Fans With Brand New Short Film, 'Jungle'

-By Renaud Jean Baptiste Jr.

Drake fans received quite the surprise this morning when the OVO general dropped an unexpected short film, simply entitled 'Jungle' via his Vimeo page. The film, which runs just a shy under 15 minutes, looks to have been shot between Los Angeles and his hometown of Toronto. It's reflective and artsy tone falls in line with the music Drake is globally known for.

'Jungle' was directed by Karim Huu Do and scored by longtime Drake collaborator/best friend, Noah "40" Shebib. It offers various glimpses of Drake we've never seen before; home video of a very young Aubrey rapping word for word to The Fugees 'Ready Or Not,' to him holding court outside of a local liquor store with his Toronto crew, far from the bright lights and screaming fans. Also, if you listen closely to the movie score, you'll get a preview of  some new music which hopefully finds it's way to the public soon.

Whether or not that much rumored mixtape ever sees the light of day, 'Jungle' should be enough to hold the average fan over — at least  visually.
