Remember Leonard Nimoy's Musical Legacy With His Mindblowing "Ballad Of Bilbo Baggins" Video

Today the world mourns the loss of Leonard Nimoy, who died at the age 83 of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Although best remembered as Spock on the original series of Star Trek, his influence and creativity spread far beyond his acting career. He directed several movies, including Three Men And A Baby (really), hosted the intriguing In Search Of... docu-series, wrote two memoirs and was a passionate photographer. But his greatest achievement is quite possibly this incredible music video for "The Ballad Of Bilbo Baggins." Trust us, you need to see it to believe it.

The 1967 video predates the Peter Jackson franchise by decades (and also the beloved animated cartoon version), yet is arguably more impressive. Essentially a musical retelling of The Hobbit, it features far out psychedelic '60s dancing and costumes. Who could want more?

There are many ways to remember Leonard Nimoy, but this is our favorite.
