Michael Jackson Used To Prank Call Russell Crowe, Despite Having Never Met Him

If ever a man was too famous, it was Russell Crowe. He's had problems with zealous fans, the press, and every other annoyance typical of being a major celebrity — a never-ending list that apparently includes Michael Jackson prank calls.

Crowe used to receive "nuisance calls" from the King of Pop, according to his recent interview with The Guardian. "For two or three fucking years," Crowe said. "I never met him, never shook his hand, but he found out the name I stayed in hotels under, so it didn't matter where I was."

Why was Michael Jackson prank calling Russell Crowe? Jackson was probably a huge fan. Maybe he wanted to befriend Crowe and went about it the Michael Jackson way. Maybe he just got bored for three years and thought it was funny. Speculations aside, let's get to the punchline.

"He'd ring up do this kind of thing, like you did when you were 10," Crowe said. "'Is Mr. Wall there? Is Mrs. Wall there? Are there any Walls there? Then what's holding the roof up?'"

Classic. Not only is Michael Jackson to blame for the Slash and Axl Rose feud, he's to blame for the telling of terrible jokes — funny, but terrible jokes nonetheless.
