Former Lynyrd Skynyrd Drummer Dies in Car Crash

Robert Lewis Burns Jr., the original Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer died earlier Saturday afternoon in a single vehicle car crash.

According to TMZ, the Georgia State Patrol has confirmed that Burns veered off of the road and ran into a tree. He was also not wearing a seatbelt. He was only 64.

Burns helped conceive Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1964 and left in 1974. Three other members of the original group have passed as well in a plane crash in 1977. Our condolences go to Robert’s family and loved ones.
