Beyonce, Michelle Williams + Kelly Rowland To Reunite For A Tour, But Don't Call Them Destiny's Child
Beyonce, Michelle Williams, and Kelly Rowland surprise performed together at the Stellar Gospel Awards in Las Vegas last weekend. The Destiny's Child trio plans to reunite after 10 years to tour and record an album together, according to Daily Mail, but the ladies won't be doing it under their beloved moniker.
Beyonce's father and former manager, Matthew Knowles, owns a quarter of Destiny's Child. None of the ladies, including Beyonce, wants anything to do with him. In order to tour and record an album without owing Knowles a dime, the group can't use the name Destiny's Child.
At the Stellar Gospel Awards, the ladies performed simply as themselves. Two years after their surprise 2013 Super Bowl Halftime Show performance together, Beyonce and Kelly joined Michelle on stage for an unexpected choir-like opening to the show. The trio performed "Alpha & Omega" and "Say Yes" from Michelle's Journey to Freedom album.
Details about the reunion remain scarce, and though it looks like Destiny's Child — wink, wink — won't be using their original name, we're game for a reunion tour and album. Relive the days of Destiny's Child's gloriously matching outfits in the gallery.
