Kelly Clarkson Says Reba McEntire is the Coolest Mother-in-Law, and Everyone Else Can 'Suck It'

Don't mess with this duo.

Kelly Clarkson loves Reba McEntire, and she wants everyone to know it.

The "Heartbeat Song" singer introduced McEntire at the Academy of Country Music Awards Sunday evening and gave a very...erm, spirited speech.

"When I was at the ACMs nine years ago, I yelled across the crowded backstage to Reba, 'I want to be you when I grow up!'" Clarkson told the crowd at the ACMs.

Clarkson has certainly done well for herself since then — platinum albums, hit songs and she even found time to marry McEntire's stepson Brandon Blackstock.

"That day," Clarkson continued, "I would become friends with this legendary woman, but in the most crazy twist of fate, she would become my family." D'awww. Touching, right?

But then it got feisty. "So basically what I'm saying here, people, is that I have the coolest mother-in-law and you all can suck it," she said with a big smile.

And, well, she's right. McEntire then slayed the audience with a performance of "Going Out Like That." That's pretty cool in our book.
