Vin Diesel Says 'Furious 8' Will Be a Gift from Paul Walker
Vin Diesel knows the way straight into your soul. In the last month he's sung in memory of the late Paul Walker, he's given heart-wrenching speeches about him, and he even named his newborn daughter Pauline. Now, he's pulling the only heartstrings we have left to talk about a possible Furious 8.
“Paul used to say that [Furious] 8 was guaranteed and, in some ways, when you’re brother guarantees something, you have to make sure it comes to pass,” Diesel told MTV at the 2015 Movie Awards. “So, if fate has it — fate, F8 — then you’ll get it. Furious 7 was for Paul; 8 is from Paul.”
Furious 8 hasn't been confirmed, but this isn't the first time Vin's expressed his eagerness for another film. In March, he visited Jimmy Kimmel Live! and revealed what we might expect from the next Furious installment. "I always think of these films, multiple pictures, in advance. I think of them as trilogies," he said, teasing the potential eighth film. "Kurt Russell came in for [Furious 7] but we really hired him because of a story that follows this, that takes place in New York."
In addition to Vin's plans, Dwayne Johnson has expressed interest in working on another film. "I think whatever it is, whatever we come up with for Furious 8, we have to raise the bar, in terms of action, but also in terms of story and character," he told MTV.
Watch Vin sing "See You Again" to his brother Pablo, and cry all over again.
