This is about to make your summer.
Tracy Morgan has kept a relatively low profile since being involved in a car accident last June that took the life of his friend and fellow comedian James McNair. However, that’s about to change: Tracy will return to the screen Oct. 17 as a host for Saturday Night Live. Yes, the show that made T a household name when he starred on it from 1996 to 2003. How great is that?!
SNL announced Tracy as its third host of the upcoming season, with Miley Cyrus and Amy Schumer going before him. Talk about three powerhouse openers. Come through, NBC!

And Tracy confirmed the news himself with this touching tweet. Grab some tissues.

Even if you’re not a SNL stan, we’re sure you’ll stop what you’re doing come Oct. 17 and give Tracy some love. Why? Because he’s an icon and deserves it! Need we remind you of these amazing SNL characters?
Changing the way we view safaris, tbh.
