Chris Brown's Good News/Bad News: One Investigation Closes As Another One Opens

Maybe his perpetual Rihanna-Karrueche love triangle wasn't the real cause of Chris Brown's tears last night. Instead, it could have to do with the ups and downs of his criminal record. He received good news yesterday, in the form of the L.A. County Sheriff's Department announcing they were closing the investigation into his alleged parking lot scuffle with Frank Ocean.

But today, according to TMZ, the L.A. District Attorney's office has a new beef with the singer: He may not have worked all the community service he said he did as part of his sentence for assaulting Rihanna in 2009. The story is a bit complicated, but the jist as we understand it is that the Richmond, Virginia chief of police who submitted paperwork about Brown's service may have fudged the documentation a bit. Brown was only supervised on nine or 10 occasions by the police department, the documents claim, and a supervising officer was told she did not have to continue monitoring him. Instead, Chris' mother provided info on the dates and times Chris supposedly worked at the Tappahannock Children's Center, where his mother was once the director. TMZ points out one more red flag: Some of the dates given for his service were allegedly days when he was performing out of the country.

In addition to this fishy development, the D.A. is none too pleased about other possible probation violations on Chris' part, including the Frank Ocean fight, testing positive for marijuana, stealing that girl's cell, throwing the chair on GMA and ... darn, this list is getting long. So maybe these are good reasons for him to be tearing up in the club.
