Chris Brown Shows Up To Court With Rihanna, His Lawyer Presents Proof Of Community Service
See that big red cirle in the photograph above? That's Rihanna sitting and listening intently to the proceedings during Chris Brown's court hearing yesterday. As you know, he was hauled back into court because it was believed that Brown had not completed his community service properly last year. Here's the interesting part --- Brown was required to do community service as a part of his sentence for assaulting Rihanna back in 2009. And here she is, with him in court to listen to his team swear that he did his time? It's an odd sort of full circle, isn't it? His team came prepared, too, considering Chris' lawyer, Mark Geragos, was on the offensive from the get-go. He went off at a press conference stating, "I have never had a client who has been tortured like Chris Brown has" adding, "The D.A. is paralyzed with the thought his probation will be terminated. If that happens they won't be able to jock him around like they've been jocking him around."
In court, Geragos fought back against allegations that Chris had lied about completing his required 180 hours of community service by presenting legal documents including invoices and other proof showing that his client had paid $31,534.70 to the Richmond PD for security during his service. The D.A had stated that Brown hadn't done so. Geragos also presented various documents that showed proof that Brown had done service at various police departments. This is just the start of it, because there are still a lot of accusations against Chris, one being that his mother had filled out his hours and his team had tampered with the details. But Geragos insists that he's on the job and so far, "what we've uncovered so far should shock the conscience of the court. And this is only the tip of the iceberg." This should be interesting.
