With the Academy Awards on the horizon, we here at VH1 are picking our own film favorites from this year's long list of beloved flicks. But we say screw the traditional nominations! (Yes, we actually said this.) What we really want to know from stars on the red carpet is this: Which 2012 movie reduced you to a weeping pile of tears, tissues and snot?

THE IMPOSSIBLE

They may sleep in beds made of botox, green juice, and box office bucks, but when it comes to getting emotional, celebrities are just like us. Judd Apatow told VH1, "I'm a sucker for Les Mis. I cried!"

The Impossible star Tom Holland also got weepy watching Hugh Jackman and friends cry-sing on-screen. "I did cry, a lot. I was like a little girl crying, it was awful."

Aww, we bet it was adorable! Then there's Joss Whedon, who told us: "I did get quite choked up in Wreck It Ralph."

Hey, to each their own! So what movie moment made YOU lose it this year? The polls are open and we need your vote! Is it:

  • Anne Hathaway's wet-eyed, warbling of "I Dreamed A Dream" in Les Miserables?
  • The emotional family drama of Silver Linings Playbook?
  • Hush Puppy's gut-wrenching journey in Beasts of the Southern Wild?
  • Or Amour or The Impossible, both of which we're too terrified to sit through because we know we'll leave the theater drenched in our own tears?
  • Hear the celebs' picks in our interview above and then choose your own below. Now, pass the tissues!
