Shia LaBeouf Bows Out Of Broadway Play After Beef With Alec Baldwin

Drama from the upcoming Broadway play Orphans is spilling off the stage, as lead Shia LaBeouf is quitting the cast due to a disagreement with his costar Alec Baldwin and director Daniel Sullivan. In other words, Baldwin is beefing with The Beef. *rimshot*

The classic "creative differences" excuse was cited to the Associated Press as the reason why Shia won't be making his Broadway debut in the Lyle Kessler revival this spring. "He was really into it," an insider elaborated to People. "But at the end of the day he and the director had very different visions of what his character was like. And, unfortunately, they couldn't resolve those differences."

The tensions bubbled over last week when Shia apparently put his fist through a door, but in the end it all became too much. Despite initial rumblings that there were hard feelings between the cast and crew, LaBeouf took to his Twitter to post some email exchanges between himself and the gang.  And they are pretty priceless. The first one hints at a feud with Baldwin, for which Shia apologizes. "A man does not know everything. He doesn't try. He likes what other men know. ... Alec, I'm sorry for my part of a dis-agreeable situation."

The tweet, tellingly titled "Creative Differences," also includes director Sullivan's emailed response. "I'm too old for disagreeable situations," he writes. "You're one hell of a great actor. Alec is who he is. you are who you are. you two are incompatible. I should have known it. this one will haunt me. you tried to warn me. you said you were a different breed. I didn't get it. Dan"

Things between the two leading actors seemed to be smoothed over pretty well, as Shia also shared a weirdly contrite and complimentary email from Alec himself. "SL I've been through this before," he says, making his love of initials known. "I don't have an unkind word to say about you. You have my word. AB" Very kind words from the notoriously quick-tempered Baldwin brother. The producers of Orphans are reportedly looking for a replacement this week.
