It's hard to imagine beautiful people being shy and nervous about anything, but The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones is Taiwanese-Canadian model Godfrey Gao's first ever acting gig in English --- and he has the pressure of playing one of your most beloved supernatural characters of 2012, warlock Magnus Bane. When VH1 caught up with him at Comic-Con this weekend, he told us how his castmates put him at ease.

"I want to say Kevin [Zegers]," he said, when we asked him who he bonded with the most. That would be most logical, since Kevin's demon-fighting teen and Gao's powerful warlock eventually end up dating in the franchise. But on his first day in Toronto, he arrived to a pitch black studio filled with demon monsters, "and all of a sudden I hear a little girl's voice come from somewhere, saying, 'Hey, Godfrey! I'm over here!' And I see Lily [Collins] and Jamie [Campbell Bower] resting in between takes.

"I was like, 'Wow, I don't feel left out. I don't feel alone after all.' "

Aww. Now we can't wait to see how all that camaraderie plays out onscreen this August, when City of Bones hits theaters. In the meantime, let's enjoy a little more Godfrey. Here he is showing off his very Magnus-y outfit for Comic-Con, complete with wild red Ferragamo loafers.
