Are Game Of Thrones‘s White Walkers Scarier Than The Walking Dead Zombies?

It was a big year for the undead on the small screen. Both Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead boast terrifying takes on zombies, but are the zombies on The Walking Dead scarier than the White Walkers on Game of Thrones?

We asked Kit Harington (Jon Snow on Game of Thrones) and Steven Yeun (Glenn on The Walking Dead) which creature scared them the most.

Kit decided to stay loyal to the North and voted for the White Walkers. “I don’t think you’d want to meet either of them in a dark alley, but I feel like if you met one zombie from The Walking Dead, you’d stand more of a chance than if you met one White Walker.”

Steven actually agreed. “The Walking Dead zombies definitely are infinitely way more gross. They’re intricately disgusting, but the Game of Thrones zombies are probably tougher because you can only kill them with that Dragonglass.”

If Steven’s answer seemed surprisingly calm and fair, it might be because like Glenn, Steven has a calm and collected spirit. Or at least, his 16-year-old self did.

“He kind of mirrors my life earlier on,” Steven said of his alter ego. “Even when you first meet him, that was kind of like 16 or 15 year old me, which is kind of shy, but [he] has a lot of fire. He wants to say something, but he can’t get it out because no one will let him.”
