'Breaking Bad''s Aaron Paul Crashes 'Saturday Night Live''s Premiere

Saturday Night Live returned last night for its 39th season premiere. Tina Fey was the host. Arcade Fire was the musical guest. There were six, yes SIX, new cast members. However, none of that really matters because JESSE PINKMAN was there! That's right, Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul crashed Saturday Night Live's C-SPAN themed cold open and then returned for "Weekend Update" and a fake commercial about meth. Check it out!

Saturday Night Live's premiere episode got off to a rocky start with a lukewarm sketch about Obamacare. That is, until "a young man from New Mexico" showed up to share the story about his friend who got "like cancer-sick" and had to turn to selling meth and murdering people to cover his medical costs. It was, of course, a reference to Breaking Bad, which ends its long run on television tonight. However, don't worry, Paul didn't spoil anything. However, he did return twice in the evening. He appeared in a sketch for eMeth (electronic meth cigarettes) and helped "Drunk Uncle" out at the "Weekend Update" desk.

Now, this makes it sound like Aaron Paul was the host, but he wasn't! The always ebullient and hilarious Tina Fey was. Fey explained at the top of the show that they were in a "rebuilding year," meaning, yes, half the cast is brand new. However, newcomer Noël Wells shone as Lena Dunham in one of the best sketches of the night: a lampoon of Girls.

Saturday Night Live returns to NBC next week with host & musical Miley Cyrus.
