Tom Hiddleston makes his triumphant return to the screen as Loki in Thor: The Dark World this weekend. Sure, Loki is the villain of the Marvel universe, but he's also the runaway star? How did that happen? Let's just say that Tom Hiddleston might not be acting when he's playing Loki. He might be the ultimate trickster in real life, too. Don't believe us? Check out these 10 mischievous moments from Tom Hiddleston and let us know if you think he's the God of Mischief in real life, too.

1) When He Pranked MTV After Hours

Tom Hiddleston was just your average talented British actor making a name for himself with his wit, charm and onscreen charisma, until he suggested he had a darker side when he showed up on MTV After Hours before The Avengers and proclaimed himself the God of Mischief. Consider us now and forever "Loki'd!"

2) When He Surprised Comic-Con's Hall H As Loki

Comic-Con is the mecca of all things nerd and if there's one thing that nerds are good at it's scooping spoilers. Hiddleston outwitted them all when he took over the Marvel panel as Loki. He reportedly flew on the plane to San Diego in a costume so that fans heading to Comic-Con wouldn't recognize him --- and couldn't spoil the surprise.

Looks like they enjoyed being taken by unawares...

3) When He Got His Groove On In Korea

If you don't think there's an air of mischief about this performance, consider how that poor chair feels. That chair thought it would be sitting on stage throughout Hiddleston's entire visit. That chair was pranked. That chair was pranked so hard.

4) When He Surprised A New York City School With A Screening Of Thor: The Dark World

On Halloween, Tom was supposed to be in London and kids from the East Harlem Children's Aid Society Center and community school Mirabel Sisters Campus were supposed to be enjoying a special preview screening of Thor: The Dark World in Times Square.

The kids did everything right. They showed up in costumes to the screening.

Tom, however, pranked them by flying in from London to see the film with them. What a pr---! Playing a nasty trick like that...oh, it was a nice prank. Right. Ugh! What a nice guy!

5) When He Taught Cookie Monster About Delayed Gratification

Cookie Monster eats cookies. That's kind of his deal as a monster. He just devours every cookie in sight...unless Tom Hiddleston is there.

In this clip for PBS, Hiddleston uses his powers of persuasion and his verbosity to trick Cookie Monster into enjoying some "Delayed Gratification" for once. We're not entirely convinced that Cookie Monster really enjoyed the wait, though.

6) When He Discovered The Restaurant Chili's

Okay, so technically, this is Clark Gregg's big mischievous moment, but for months, Tom Hiddleston was just eating takeout from Chili's, as one does.

The tricky twist is that Hiddleston tried to convince the Avengers cast that he had "discovered" the culinary delights of Chili's. They weren't completely buying it, but Hiddleston had to try, right?

7) When He Played With Swords For Coriolanus

It's not necessarily an obvious prank, but don't let his innocent face and demeanor fool you. Tom Hiddleston totally lunged with an epee like that (and wore that tight light blue shirt) because he knew it would distract us from carrying on with the rest of our day.

8) When He Turned Into A Velociraptor

Did you know that Tom Hiddleston can transform himself into a dinosaur at will!?!?!? Because he can! HE CAN!

9) When He Showed Benedict Cumberbatch Up

So, we love Benedict Cumberbatch. We love his style, we love his cheek and most of all we love his cheekbones. Cumberbatch is known for playing brainy characters and he seems to be the kind of guy who likes to be thought of as intelligent. So, it was kind of funny when Tom Hiddleston schooled him in Greek for this War Horse junket interview a few years ago.

I mean, I'm sure Hiddles didn't mean to make Cumberbatch look like a layman, but he did.

10) When He Got Sassy With A Sassy Preschooler

Our friends at Comedy Central recently produced this spot with Hiddleston and a bunch of preschoolers. Now of course, when a little kid is being sassy, you're not supposed to stoop to their level, but let's just say, we understand what came over Loki in this ad.

Thor: The Dark World opens nationwide this Friday, November 8.
