For the most part we should think of this as a happy 2013 Wrap + Up list: Whether they went there by choice or by court order, the celebrities who checked themselves into rehab to overcome drug, alcohol and anger management issues were taking the first steps toward healthier lives. Unfortunately, we already know that the substance abuse has no quick and easy solution, and treatment didn't save the lives of Cory Monteith or Lisa Robin Kelly.

But let's go back to the bright side. Zac Efron, Adam Shankman, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Elizabeth Vargas, Chief Keef, Oscar de la Hoya and Josh Brolin are closer to making their careers as long and healthy as we want them to be. And if that means we also have to tolerate longevity from the likes of Chris Brown and Brooke Mueller, we guess we're OK with that. Will stays in cushy resorts finally end the troubles of Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Bynes and Lamar Odom? We don't know yet. But we'll be rooting for them the whole way. Or, we'll be back here in 2014, chronicling their return rounds.
