What's tastier than a shiny statue on Oscar night? Arm candy, people! The 86th annual Academy Awards is all about memorable celebrity couples.

The Academy Awards are officially underway, and we're already drooling over Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves' sensational red carpet look. And then Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie showed up.

The glamorous couple are Oscar veterans, but that doesn't mean either slacked off when it came to choosing a stunning look we'll definitely be talking about tomorrow morning. Presenter Jason Sudeikis and pregnant fiance Olivia Wilde proved that funny people are sexy people, too--and that baby bumps should always be embraced on the red carpet. Chris Hemsworth and wife Elsa Pataky fully support this. For others, it was all about family. Laura Dern showed up to support her father Bruce Dern's performance in Nebraska, cheeering him on in the Best Actor category, while Best Supporting Actor nominee Jared Leto walked the carpet with his mom and brother. Make sure you get a photo for next year's Christmas card!

To find who stepped out with a gorgeous date on Oscar night, and who brought their grandmother, check out our gallery of the best arm candy from the red carpet. And to relive some of the most memorable Oscar dates of all-time (Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and their moms!), check out our video below.
