Hail To The EGOT: How Many Awards Has 'Frozen' Composer Robert Lopez Won?

This year, Oscar night was all about 12 Years a Slave's Lupita Nyong'o and Matthew McConaughey's career makeover. But it's also important to celebrate what those in the biz regard as a ginormous accomplishment: the EGOT. (That's Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Award). Robert Lopez is now a member of the prestigious club, thanks to his Best Original Song Oscar win for the infectious "Let It Go" from Frozen. He's also the youngest person to ever achieve such a feat. Time to move over, Whoopi Goldberg. (Keep on working at your craft, Tracy Jordan.)

The Frozen composer got some major prime-time love at tonight's Academy Awards, but he's no stranger to fancy award shows. Broadway smash The Book of Mormon earned him two Tony Awards for Best Original Score and Best Book; 2003's Avenue Q won him a Tony Award for Best Original Score. If that wasn't enough, Lopez has also won a Grammy Award for Mormon and a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition for his work on The Wonder Pets, because he likes to make you feel bad about yourself for falling asleep during marathons of Bar Rescue. More importantly than the lavish amount of hardware on display in the Lopez home is the heartfelt (and funny!) acceptance speech he and his wife and writing partner Kristen Anderson-Lopez delivered after their win.
