Kerry Washington Handles Pregnancy, Gives Birth To Baby Girl

Kerry Washington gave birth to her first child, and like everything else in her life, the event was top secret. Are we really surprised? This is the woman who dated and married former NFL stud Nnamdi Asomugha with little to no media attention, and continues to rarely get photographed with her husband in public. She’s private by nature, and any additional deceptive tricks needed to shake a trail of paparazzi she’s picked up by playing Olivia Pope.

According to TMZ, the Scandal star and Asomugha welcomed their daughter Isabelle Amarachi Asomugha on April 21 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. After a tightly-guarded pregnancy, Washington’s little one joins the ranks of some of the most important celebrity children in pop culture. So, will the little gladiator-in-training be a political junkie like her mom or an accomplished athlete like her dad? Will she refuse to wear anything but white and develop a taste for popcorn as soon as her teeth come in? One can only hope.

After a season spent carefully attempting to hide her growing belly behind random couches or floor lamps, Washington, creator Shonda Rhimes, and the entire Scandal family will be getting back to dramatic portrayal of D.C.’s underworld in just a few months.
