Oprah Made Lee Daniels Cry and You Need to Know Why

Spoiler alert: Empire is involved.

Empire creator Lee Daniels was brought to tears after reading the touching essay Oprah wrote about him in the Time 100 issue of the "most influential people."

"I'm not famous enough for her to write about me," he told The Gossip Table. Daniels was so moved by the piece, he says he started balling after reading it. Here's what Oprah had to say about the innovator.

With the runaway success of Fox’s Empire, his seductive new hip-hop drama, it seems like there is nothing Lee can’t do. He is taking us all on an uninhibited, bodacious ride, bringing in new viewers each week at a pace that is unheard of in today’s television landscape. His eyes and ears are attuned to nuance. He knows how to rattle the nerves of the zeitgeist. He is an undeniable, singular voice, the likes of which we’ve rarely seen.

FEELS. You can't tell me you wouldn't cry from reading that, too. If Oprah punched me in the face I would probably still cry of happiness.

The Gossip Table reports that Daniels loves writing for your fave Cookie. "I write well for women, it's really exciting," he said. So can we lock Oprah down for season 2 already?
