GoFundMe Campaign Launched To Help Comedian Who Was Attacked During Live Show

Seattle comedy fans were horrified Monday when an open mic performance turned grisly. Local comic Dylan Avila was struck in the head with an aluminum baseball bat by a man reportedly barred from doing a stand-up routine.

According to the Seattle Times, the attacker previously performed at the open mic, which Avila hosts. After a recent lewd routine, the man was told he couldn’t come back. As Avila introduced Monday’s lineup, the man assaulted him on stage.

Avila suffered a double cranial fracture and is recovering. A GoFundMe campaign has been started to help with Avila’s medical costs as news of the attack spreads.
