Did the Oscars Just Leave Joan Rivers Out of the In Memoriam Tribute?
Wait. Did that just happen? Jaws everywhere are dropping on the floor after the realization that the Academy left entertainment legend Joan Rivers out of its In Memoriam tribute at the 2015 Oscars.
The late icon's daughter Melissa Rivers paid tribute to her mom at the event, which makes this whole thing even worse. Most people are freaking out. As they should be.
I would *love* to hear the Joan Rivers routine about getting left out of the In Memoriam reel.

Shameful that @TheAcademy still treated @Joan_Rivers like crap even after death. Get over yourselves. — Scott Nevins (@ScottNevins) February 23, 2015

I'm pissed off. Just beyond pissed off. Why wasn't Joan Rivers included in the Memoriam?! @TheAcademy

And the truest of them all.
We miss you, Joan.
UPDATE, 2/23/15
An Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences representative gave a brief explanation to BuzzFeed. “Joan Rivers is among the many worthy artists and filmmakers we were unfortunately unable to feature in the ‘In Memoriam’ segment of this year’s Oscar show. She is, however, included in our ‘In Memoriam’ gallery on Oscar.com.”
