Zendaya Rightfully Calls Out E!'s Giuliana Rancic for Offensive 'Fashion Police' Comments
It's clear Giuliana Rancic got an extreme attitude makeover this season on E!'s Fashion Police, as she's been throwing daggers like never before. We're not sure if she's attempting to fill the shoes of the late Joan Rivers, but if so, it's not working. On Monday's post-Oscars episode, the host made an extremely offensive statement about 18-year-old Zendaya's Oscar look, and was rightfully called out for it.
At first, Rancic explained that Zendaya's dreadlocks were too much for the actress-singer's tiny frame. Fair enough. But she should've stopped before saying that it looked like her hair smelled like "patchouli oil" or "weed." Zendaya then publicly posted a long statement to Giuliana in response, prompting an apology from the host.

Dear @Zendaya, I'm sorry I offended you and others. I was referring to a bohemian chic look. Had NOTHING to do with race and NEVER would!!! — Giuliana Rancic (@GiulianaRancic) February 24, 2015
As a fan, I was extremely disappointed. What exactly was Giuliana insinuating? I loved when she flipped off the Oscars for omitting Joan Rivers from its In Memoriam tribute, and when she talked shit on Dior for not inviting her to its Oscar event, but this comment just took things way too far.
Do you agree that Giuliana needs to reassess her approach, or is everything fair game? Let us know in the comments.
UPDATE 2/25/14 Kelly Osbourne threatened to quit Fashion Police yesterday in defense of Zendaya, who is one of her friends. Rancic also made an on-air apology for her comments about Zendaya's hair on E! News yesterday.
UPDATE 2/26/15 Zendaya took to Instagram to accept Giuliana's public apology.
