Will E! Cancel 'Fashion Police' After Giuliana Rancic Controversy?

Giuliana Rancic's controversial statement about Zendaya's dreadlocks smelling like "patchouli oil” or “weed" on Fashion Police has gotten more heat than anyone had probably anticipated. Not only is Giuliana's E! position on the line, but is the entire show as well?

Sources tell The Gossip Table that show runners may be considering taking the program off the air altogether. "E! can't survive without celebrity cooperation," they explain. If the show is causing more harm than good in regards to celebrity relationships, the network just might have to pull the plug.

It doesn't seem far fetched considering the show hasn't been the same since our dear Joan Rivers passed away. Not only is the cast dynamic off, but Kathy Griffin has got a lot of flak for attempting to fill the late host's shoes without the same fashion expertise and unapologetic humor. So is dealing with all of this and the aftermath of Giuliana's statement really worth it, especially when other A-listers are chiming in?

Because the show is taped, many have wondered why producers let Giuliana's comment air in the first place. Now, fingers are being pointed at executive producer Melissa Rivers, who was at the taping and approved of the content, but has yet to make a public statement.

If Melissa, like everyone else, has learned anything from this, it's to choose your words wisely. Stay tuned as the story develops.
