The dust continues to settle one mother after NBC suspended anchor Brian Williams for six months without pay for fabricating a 2003 story of being in a shot helicopter during the Iraq War. And who's better to talk controversial issues with than Maury host and Williams' former colleague Maury Povich?
"I hope everything works out for him. No person should ever have to go through this," he tells Big Morning Buzz Live host Nick Lachey. "I'm just hoping that everything works out and we'll see Brian back in the anchor seat. I'm not privy to anything, don't want to be privy to anything. This is done on a different level and that I'm sure the NBC executives will make the right decision."
Povich admits he thought Williams was "terrific" right off that bat, while reminiscing about working with the anchor on his first major gig at the Washington Fox News station in the '80s. Turns out, he's even responsible for setting up Williams with his wife Jane.
