Vin Diesel Gives a Touching Tribute to His Late "Brother" Paul Walker
Furious 7 star Vin Diesel couldn't make the surprise screening at SXSW on Sunday because his girlfriend Paloma Jiménez was busy giving birth to their third child, but he more than made up for it at a L.A. viewing last night. The actor arrived straight from the hospital and gave a touching speech honoring the life of his late "brother" and co-star, Paul Walker. Get ready for the tears.
"This was a labor of love," Diesel said. "It was in some ways the hardest movie I ever had to do. Because the relationships that you see on film are so real. When the tragedy happened, I lost my best friend. I lost my brother. Tonight…” the actor then paused when emotions took over. After receiving cheers of encouragement from the crowd, he continued. “What can I say, guys? Thanks for being my family. Thanks for always taking care of us. Thanks for believing in us. Please know that we made this movie from our hearts, and know that this is our gift to you. And more importantly, it’s for my brother there. Let it be the legacy we know he deserves.”
