Karrueche Tran Admits She Still Loves Chris Brown on 'Iyanla: Fix My Life'

Chris Brown's ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran sat down with Iyanla Vanzant for an exclusive interview on OWN's Iyanla: Fix My Life Saturday night to discuss everything from Brown's betrayal to her career aspirations. But let's be real. We all wanted to know one thing: What the hell was she thinking going back to Breezy after he lied, cheated on her, and fathered a baby with another woman? Vanzant asked all the hard questions, and the hour certainly didn't disappoint.

If you don't know the Tran/Brown saga, here are the CliffsNotes. Tran met Brown at a styling gig two years ago and after a few dates — including a 2:30 AM diner run — they became an item. But it didn't take long for Brown's shady ways to take over. On Christmas 2012, Tran was at Brown's house when he mysteriously left. Turns out, he went to a basketball game with his ex-girlfriend Rihanna behind Tran's back. This led to more lies, deceit, and trolls calling Tran out on social media for not dumping Brown. Things hit a fever pitch a few weeks ago when news broke Brown had a child with a woman who isn't Tran. The couple has since parted ways, but Tran is tired of keeping quiet. Sitting uncomfortably close to Vanzant — we thought she was going to shake her — Tran candidly talked about her relationship with Brown. Here are the highlights.

Vanzant is not here for Tran's excuses.

Throughout the interview, Tran played the, "I'm human. I make mistakes" card. However, Vanzant did not see this as a viable excuse for Tran's behavior. She was quick to point out that Tran made classic mistakes all women make in relationships, like expecting a guy to treat her differently over other girls and focusing on his issues instead of her own. It seems like the message got through to Tran because she admitted, "I will never again let a man disrespect me."  She also said, "The mistakes I know I've made are not having a voice." Damn straight, K.

Tran wants us to think Brown is a good person, despite his fuckery.

Even though he is an epic douchebag, Tran emphasized that Brown isn't as bad as we think he is several times in the interview. "He's a big kid with a big heart that's been through some things," Tran said. (That's one way of looking at it.) In fact, Tran even tried to take Brown to church and yoga to make him more at peace, but it didn't work. "Yes, he is damaged," she said. "But I'm damaged, too." Thankfully, though, Tran is not interested in getting back together with Brown for the time being. "No," she said. "Right now, I'm saying no...There's no making up right now."

She knew about the whole Rihanna thing.

Tran knew Brown was hanging out with Rihanna, but she didn't see it as more than a quasi-friendship. However, that all changed after photos surfaced of Rihanna and Brown at a basketball game in late 2012. "I didn't want to believe it," Tran said. She also discussed how taking her anger and frustration out on social media wasn't a good idea because it welcomed unwanted criticism into her life. "Don't do that," Tran said. "It's the worst thing to do." Sub-tweeters, take note.

Vanzant calls out Christina Milian for not telling Tran to leave Brown alone.

Vanzant sat down with Milian, Tran's best friend, to discuss her feelings toward Brown. However, after a few wishy-washy statements about focusing on their friendship and not Brown, Vanzant asked Milian why she didn't tell Tran to leave Brown alone if she was such a good friend. Milian kept her answer evasive, saying Tran doesn't always tell people what's really going on in her life. Serious props to Vanzant for calling out Milian, though.

She stills loves Brown.

The four words heard 'round the world: "I still love him." We could feel Vanzant's internal eye-roll as Tran said these words, but at least she was being honest. We later learn their relationship could have never worked because they want two different things in life. Tran is more traditional and wants marriage, kids, and a white picket fence. Brown wants whatever the opposite of that is, apparently. On Brown's wild persona, Tran said, "I see both sides...I see a sweet loving side. Fun, makes me laugh...Not the Chris Brown that's on stage." With that, however, she was quick to admit she's embarassed by how much she let Brown lie, betray, and humiliate her. "He did give me love," she said. "Maybe not the right kind of love."

She found out about Brown's baby drama through social media.

Tran claimed that Brown tried to get a hold of her to tell her something really important, but social media beat him to the punch. The Internet spilled the tea for Tran, but she insists she's not upset at the baby or the baby's mother. The only issue she focuses on — if any — is the one between Karreuche and Chris. Speaking of social media, Tran said that she's received messages like "I hope you die" on Instagram and Twitter, which isn't cool at all.

Tran ended the interview by saying, "I'm a work in progress" and that she's currently focusing on her career. However, we still need to talk about this interview. Were you satisfied with Tran's answers? Sound off in the comments below.
