Take A Trip Down Memory Lane: Remembering Why We Fell In Love With Remy Ma

"You gotta have the mind state, like I'm so great, and can't nobody do it like you do!"

Remy Ma is a legend in the rap game and you should be extra excited to see her comeback on season six of Love & Hip Hop. In case you forgot how she earned her cred and why she's a force to be reckoned with, allow us to prove our point.

Because before she was locked up, not only did she have many hit records, but unlike a lot of other female rappers, she held it down in the battle rap realm (no ghostwriters for Remy). Ask about her!

Because while she was locked up, a few of her friends you may be familiar with, held her down. In this interview with Wendy Williams, she explains that Keyshia Cole sent mucho guap for Remy's family and lawyer, and 50 Cent wrote her letters while she was in prison assuring he'd always hold her down. She also clears up rumors of an alleged beef with another female rapper in the interview.

And then there's her hubby, Papoose. In 2006 although he been around, he put on for his city with Busta Rhymes on the "Touch It" Remix feat Missy Elliot, Mary J, Lloyd Banks, DMX and many others. He def had NYC in the palm of his hands with this one!

Because not even a full year out of jail, she graced the Summerjam stage, making a guest appearance on Fabolous' set.

Because in 2004 she was the only female rapper to be nominated for a Grammy for Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group for...you guessed it...

And then there are the classics....

She's such a f---n' lady!

Remy is definitely not new to this. No shade to other cast members, she had major hits but unfortunately had a minor setback for a major comeback. Her resume is healthy so don't get it twisted. If you didn't know, now you know.

Love & Hip Hop premieres Monday December 14 at 8/7c.
