O.J. Simpson's Reaction to the Knife Found at His Estate Will Send Shivers Down Your Spine
Everyone freaked out last week when news broke a knife was found buried at O.J. Simpson's estate years ago and kept under wraps by a shady LAPD officer. (If you're not familiar with Simpson's trial for the murders of wife Nicole Brown and Ronald Goldman, a knife was one of the missing pieces of evidence. Coincidence or nah?) However, you're about to get even more creeped out. Page Six published a story Wednesday that detailed Simpson's alleged reaction to the knife brouhaha. And it's eerie. Very eerie.
“O.J. has a saying, ‘If the knife is rusted, I can’t be busted," retired prison guard Jeffrey Felix said. (Felix met Simpson at the Lovelock Correctional Center in Nevada.) Officers who saw the knife think there could be blood residue on it, but as Simpson reportedly chanted, rust will make it difficult to confirm anything.
The saying is a clear reference to what Simpson's lawyer Johnnie Cochran said during his 1995 trial: “If [the glove] doesn’t fit, you must acquit.” Crazy, right?
But it gets crazier. Not only is Simpson *apparently* repeating some elementary mantra, he's chuckling about the latest development altogether.
“He thinks it’s a total joke,” Felix said. “O.J. is laughing about it. He’s on top of his game. He’s like Muhammad Ali.” Do you have shivers yet?
All of this cockiness is oddly reminiscent of Simpson's demeanor during the 1995 trial, and we don't like it one bit. Now, we're going to have nightmares of Simpson laughing about this knife. Thank you, Page Six. Thank you.
