That Time Chaka Khan Brought 50 Cent as Her Date for 'VH1 Divas'

We're just days away from VH1 Divas Holiday: Unsilent Night and let's just say, we can hardly wait! After a four year hiatus, the hit VH1 special will return to our screens with a lineup filled with legends that includes: Mariah Carey, Teyana Taylor, Patti LaBelle, Vanessa Williams, and of course, Chaka Khan.

Queen Chaka's return to the Divas stage made us remember the headliner's show-stopping red carpet moment in 2011 when she brought along a date no one was expecting, 50 Cent. Now before you think that Chaka pulled out her inner cougar and made the first move, guess again! It was the rapper who initiated contact to court the icon first, because after all, she is a lady!

"He called me this morning. We met last week, officially for the first time and we loved each other's music. I know 50's songs [and] 50's movies!"
