Dave Chappelle, George Lopez, and Some Kings of Comedy Say Goodbye to Charlie Murphy

Comedy has lost a great one.

Family and friends gathered to pay their final respects to Charlie Murphy during a memorial service in New York. According to TMZ, the comedian was laid to rest Wednesday (April 19) and some of the people he shared the stage with turned out to say goodbye. Comedians Dave Chappelle, George Lopez, Cedric the Entertainer, D.L. Hughley were among the comic stars in attendance to celebrate the life of their dear friend.

Murphy, the older brother of icon Eddie Murphy, passed last week at the age of 57 after battling leukemia. His fellow comedians came together for a few photos and say their final goodbyes on Instagram.

"Tonite we joined Family n Friends to pay tribute and lay to rest our brother the Legendary #charliemurphy @neilbrennan @realdlhughley @georgelopez @eddiegriffin @donnellrawlings @davechapelle S/o @jaypharoah @affioncrockett #Capone #terryhodges #garfield," Cedric captioned a photo of the comedic group.

Lopez also shared the same group photo with the caption, "Tonight we honored #Darkness." Chappelle, who doesn't have social media app, gave a moving tribute to his Chappelle's Show co-star last week with good friend John Mayer. Other comedians including Hugely, Donnell Rawlings, and Eddie Griffin also shared their goodbyes on IG. Check them out below.
