VH1 Trailblazer Honors Kicks Off Women’s History Month By Honoring Filmmaker Ava DuVernay

This one-hour special will air on International Women’s Day, Friday, March 8th at 9PM ET/PT on VH1 and Logo.

The VH1 Trailblazer Honors is an annual tradition of celebrating those who have gone before and forged a pathway for others while achieving greatness themselves. Previous honorees include the groundbreaking screenwriter, director and producer Ryan Murphy, author and activist James Baldwin, The ACLU Organization, performer and activist Cyndi Lauper, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin who are social activists and parents of Trayvon Martin, Jason Collins, who was the first out professional male athlete in a major U.S. sport, and many more.

This year, it’s all about the ladies. That’s right, the VH1 Trailblazer Honors is recognizing all things female empowerment. (Alexa, play literally anything by the Spice Girls, I’m in the mood for some girl power.)
