It's incredible to see how far Ed Sheeran has progressed in his career since VH1 Tuner first met him last spring at the 2012 SXSW Music Festival. That night, we chatted to him for a few minutes before he played a solo acoustic show in front of 75 people or so —this was a few months before he became our You Oughta Know artist— but tonight, he performed in front of tens of millions of people worldwide alongside none other than Rock And Roll Hall of Famer Elton John.

The two Brits teamed up for a riveting performance of Sheeran's dark, breakout hit about the dangers of cocaine abuse, "The A-Team" (which, we should note, is up for Song Of The Year tonight). It was a significantly less controversial performance than the last time Elton performed a duet at the Grammys; of course, we're referring to when he paired up with Eminem back in 2001 for their performance of "Stan" that went down in the record books. That said, Elton's endorsement will no doubt add even more shine to Sheeran's flourishing career, and this duet could result in a big boost for "The A Team" on the iTunes and Billboard charts this week.

We hung out with Ed Sheeran all day yesterday as he prepped for his big Grammys coming-out party, check out the video below!
