Coachella kicks off today with OutKast taking the stage for their big reunion at the two-week festival in Indio, California. Announcing their first live performance together in 10 years caused the Internet to erupt in cheers, making Coachella the festival to spend your hard-earned money on this summer. But then Andre and Antwan booked headlining sets at Governors Ball, Lollapalooza and many, many more festivals around the world.
We’re not saying you should regret your decision to shell out for three days of desert fun — Katy Perry will likely be there, so spotting her in her natural SoCal habitat is definitely worth it. What we are saying, is that those without a ticket shouldn’t feel the need to stay at home glued to a livestream. There are plenty of weekend festivals to get your groove on at this summer… most of which feature OutKast. If you prefer guitar gods with endless sets, head to New Orleans for JazzFest, where Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton and Phish will play until the lights go off. If you want to reminisce about early 21st century rock in the city that never sleeps, Governors Ball in New York City is worthy of your time; catch the Strokes, Interpol and Vampire Weekend at Randall’s Island from June 6-8. And if you simply adore that guy Drake, you obviously need to a head to Toronto — preferably at 5 AM — for the festival he started himself.
