Khloe Kardashian's Reasoning for Putting Divorce on Pause Isn't Nearly as Romantic as You Thought
We were practically dancing in the streets when we learned Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom put their divorce on pause amidst Lamar's recent near-death incident. But this isn't the twisted fairy tale we hoped it'd be. Khloe has been by Lamar's side since his initial hospitalization and everyone assumed his encounter with death made the two realize how much they still love each other. In this morning's interview with Today, Khloe abruptly pulled our rose-colored glasses off when she clarified her decision and where her relationship with Lamar currently stands.
"I was expediting the divorce prior and I'm still separated with him, but I'm just not expediting [the papers] anymore," she said. "There was no reason for it."
There are also logistics. During Lamar's recovery, reports claimed Khloe was making executive medical decisions upon his behalf, which she validates in the interview. "In his will I'm always the medical advisor and he had no one else to make these decisions for him." Unromantic, but necessary.
Khloe confirms that Lamar is currently at a Los Angeles hospital, in speech therapy, breathing on his own and learning to walk again. It could be 1-2 years for him to fully recover mentally, if he does at all.
This interview comes the morning after Khloe went on a small Twitter rant, defending her relationship status with James Harden, confirming she's still following through with her divorce from Lamar, who "went against all [their] vows."
Damn. My dreams of their romantic reconciliation are shattered, but she makes a point and I'm glad she did. Watch Khloe's Today interview in its entirety below, and let us know what you think about her statements in the comments section.
