Lindsay Lohan Defended Harvey Weinstein and Rose McGowan Had the Best Response

Lindsay, honey, no...

If you've been keeping up with the news lately, you've probably seen the mess that is the Harvey Weinstein scandal. First, The New York Times practically lit a match and threw it onto Harvey Weinstein's career when they published reports that stated plainly the decades of abuse Weinstein was allegedly putting women through. Weinstein reportedly assaulted women, paid them to keep silent, or tarnished their names if they didn't. Then The New Yorker published another report that named celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow and Angeline Jolie among other women who experienced rape and assault allegedly at the hands of the exec. It didn't take long for celebrities to start speaking out against the 65-year-old now former-Hollywood power player. Meryl Streep, George Clooney, and Kate Winslet are among the big names who came forward to express their anger and disbelief.

It seemed that Hollywood was unified in their thinking: Harvey Weinstein got away with his behavior for far too long and it is unacceptable. That is, until Lindsay Lohan decided to chime in.

"I feel very bad for Harvey Weinstein right now. I don't think it's right what's going on. I think Georgina needs to take a stand and be there for her husband," Lindsay says in a weird new accent. Georgina Chapman was Weinstein's wife--the two were married in 2007 and share two children together. She decided to leave him in the wake of the allegations.

Lindsay goes on to say, "And he's never harmed me, or done anything mean to me and we've done several movies together. And so I think everyone needs to stop. I think it's wrong. So stand up."

Lindsay, honey…

Everyone is a little confused by her (now deleted) Instagram videos, which come in the wake of Donna Karan's comments that the victims were pretty much asking to be assaulted.

We were all feeling weird about it. Not only is her new accent strange, her logic is totally flawed. But then Rose McGowan chimed in with a explanation of what may be happening to Lindsay.

I mean, I'm trying not to laugh but...

McGowan, as you may know, was just one of the celebrities and women who have been assaulted by Harvey Weinstein. She’s never been one to mince words on Twitter, but her presence now is one that challenges those who are not speaking up against, or even defending Weinstein, to think again.

Back in 2016, McGowan had used the platform to reveal that she had been raped by one of her studio heads, and reading those tweets back now is harrowing. What I’m really trying to say is, she is one bad-ss lady who has been calling out this behavior for years.

There is no room for defending Weinstein. After nearly three decades of getting away with assaulting young women in Hollywood, it looks like we're finally done sitting back. Even if Lindsay Lohan insists on using her fake British accent for evil rather than good.

Watch Lindsay's mom Dina Lohan talk about what her kids are up to now.
