Jennifer Hudson and David Otunga Have Decided to End Their 10 Year Relationship
After ten years together, Jennifer Hudson and David Otunga are calling it quits.
Jennifer and David have been together since 2007 and were engaged in September of 2008, after less than a year of dating. Though the pair remained engaged for almost a decade, they never married. They share a child together, David Daniel Otunga Jr. who is eight years old.
A representative for Hudson told People, "They have been in the process of ending their relationship for a number of months. Today, Jennifer requested and received a protective order against her ex-fiancé. Jennifer's actions are solely taken in the best interest of their son."
According to the order of protection obtained by TMZ , Jennifer is "living in fear of further action David might take" after he showed "aggressive, threatening and harassing behavior toward [her.]" Otunga is a professional wrestler, which Jennifer cites as one of her concerns.
Otunga, who you might remember from I Love New York released his own statement, saying that the allegations Hudson is making are untrue.
"David Otunga has been trying to negotiate the terms of an amicable parenting agreement with Ms. Hudson for several weeks now. However, when it became apparent to Ms. Hudson that Mr. Otunga would be the parent granted residential care of the child, as a result of Mr. Otunga being the child’s primary caregiver while Ms. Hudson pursues her career all over the world, Ms. Hudson decided to file a meritless Petition for Order of Protection in an effort to gain an unfair advantage in the custody dispute."
The statement was also quite clear in stating that, "Mr. Otunga has never abused or harassed Ms. Hudson or their son." They are asserting that Hudson is making these claims because she thinks it gives her a better chance at getting custody of her child.
It looks like this won't be an easy split for either party.
